Punjab Home Secretary, Chinese team discuss security for Punjab projects
Home Secretary Mengal emphasized the government’s commitment to provide security for Chinese nationals
LAHORE: In a significant meeting between the Chinese Consul General and Punjab Home Secretary Noorul Amin Mengal Thursday, the security issues and mutual interests were discussed, including a comprehensive briefing on the security measures for Chinese nationals working on various projects across Punjab.
The Chinese Consul General expressed satisfaction with the current arrangements, underscoring the robust measures to ensure the safety of Chinese workers in the region.
Home Secretary Mengal emphasized the government’s commitment to provide security for Chinese nationals, citing specific orders issued to factory management to implement foolproof security measures, including the provision of bulletproof vehicles. These vehicles are to be made available at reasonable rental rates to ensure accessibility and affordability. Mengal also announced that factories previously closed due to inadequate security would be reopened following the implementation of security steps.
