Dozens arrested for overcharging consumers

MANSEHRA: Tehsil Administration Baffa-Pakhal on Thursday arrested over a dozen traders and sealed many shops for selling essential goods at higher prices than that fixed by the district price control and review committee before the start of Ramazan.

A joint team of the Food department and tehsil administration led by Assistant Commissioner Baffa-Pakhal, Novaria Farooq paid visited bazaars in Battal and its suburban areas and arrested and fined dozens of traders and sealed many shops.

She also took action against those who were selling chapli kabab and meat at exorbitant prices.“The traders and shopkeepers who will challenge the writ of the government will be taken to justice under strict relevant sections of law,” Farooq told reporters.
