Despite clearing the placement test, completing the fee process, and attending classes for two months, my admission to Karachi University was abruptly cancelled. This decision defies logic, especially considering my eligibility as a DAE (Diploma of Associate Engineer) student, officially recognized as equivalent to the pre-engineering intermediate level by the Sindh Technical Board. It was also astonishing to learn that the admission committee seemingly lacks the necessary awareness. While the chairman of the computer science department acknowledged and accepted the equivalence of my qualification, the committee remained oblivious to these facts.
This incident raises serious concerns about the competence of the admission committee. It is also essential to remember that the absence of any ruling by the university’s syndicate or academic council to justify the cancellation of my admission exposes a grave lapse in due process. I urge the university authorities to undertake a thorough investigation into this matter and ensure transparency in the admissions process.
