LAHORE : Cold and partly cloudy weather was recorded in the City here Sunday while Met office predicted similar weather conditions for the next 24 hours.
Following a change in the weather, city parks witnessed a rush of visitors especially families to enjoy the day. Lahore Zoo, Safari Park, Bagh-e-Jinnah, Jilani Park, Allama Iqbal Park, Model Town park and other similar parks witnessed a large foot count.
Met officials warned that snowfall over the upper parts of the country may affect the transportation in the coming days so tourists and the general public were advised to be cautious.
They said a westerly wave was affecting western and upper parts of the country and likely to persist in upper parts for next few days. They predicted that mainly cold weather was expected in most areas while cloudy in upper districts. However, rain (snowfall over mountain) was expected in Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and surrounding hill stations while shallow to moderate fog was likely to persist in few plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh.
Sunday’s minimum temperature was recorded at Leh where mercury dropped to -08°C while in Lahore, it was 6.3°C and maximum was 22.5°C.
