Provocative TV talk case: Lahore ATC reserves judgment on acquittal pleas of Marriyum, others
LAHORE: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Lahore has reserved judgment following the completion of arguments on acquittal pleas of PMLN leader Marriyum Aurangzeb and others in provocative TV talks case.
The case against PMLN leaders Mian Javed Latif and Marriyum Aurangzeb came up for hearing before Judge Naveed Iqbal of ATC Lahore on Saturday. Both the PMLN leaders appeared in the court. The counsel for the accused took the plea during the hearing of the case, saying the case was registered with the delay of five days.
He told the court that the provocative talk was made on TV. However, the name of TV channel has not been mentioned in the case. The legal formalities were not reviewed correctly while registering the case. The claimant has deviated from his statement and there is no witness of the case now. Later, the court reserved the judgment on the acquittal pleas of Marriyum Aurangzeb and other accused persons on the completion of arguments.”
