PhD thesis defended

PESHAWAR: Saeeda Mukhtar has successfully defended her Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) thesis at the Qurtaba University of Science and Information Technology, Peshawar.

her thesis topic was “A critical analysis of the poetic and prose contributions made by Mukhtar Ali Nayyar”.

Dr Sattar Khan Khattak and Dr Syed Zubair Sahar were her supervisors. Dr Altaf Yousafzai was her external examiner.

Professor Dr Faqeera Khan Faqri was present as well at the defence. Saeeda Mukhtar is a lecturer at the Fazaia Inter College, Peshawar. She attributed the success to the guidance of her teachers and prayers of her parents.

It may be mentioned here that Mukhtar Ali Nayyar was a known poet, writer, and research scholar of the Hindko language. He was born in Peshawar on August 16, 1935 and passed away in June 2009 10 after making immense contributions to both Hindko and Urdu literature.

The government of Pakistan honoured him with Tamgh-e-Imtiaz in recognition of his literary services.
