Three Gorges seeks licence

KARACHI: Three Gorges Second Wind Farm Pakistan Limited has approached the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra), seeking generation licence for its 49.5MW wind power project to be set up in Thatta, Sindh, a statement said on Monday. The project will have an installed capacity of 49.5MW, which would dispatch electricity to Hyderabad Electric Supply Company Limited grid.
Upon issuance of the generation license and upfront tariff, the applicant would execute the energy purchase agreement with the power purchaser and reach financial close by the first quarter of 2016. The expected commercial operation date of the project is September 2017.
