The shortage of well-equipped public libraries in many regions of our country is unfortunate. Even in large cities, public libraries do not exist in certain areas and those that are there lack adequate facilities. This problem is particularly discouraging for book readers.
In the present era, despite the advent of technology, libraries are still pivotal in providing access to quality information by means of books, newspapers, magazines, journals and other publication formats. They are vital for society to promote a culture of learning and hence improve the literacy rate. Moreover, libraries encourage teenagers to study and develop a taste for literature. Will the government and the relevant organisations take an initiative to promote libraries in our country?
