Punjab University (PU) Department of Special Education celebrated “International White Cane Safety Day” here on Thursday.
The day included a seminar on “Success stories of the persons with visual impairment” to sensitise the ignorant segment of society to recognise the fact of their inclusion so that they may materialise the dream of living in an inclusive world for all. Dean Faculty of Education Prof Dr Mumtaz Akhtar, In-charge Dr Humaira Bano, Prof Dr Nasir-ud-Din, Assistant Prof Dr Samina Ashraf, faculty members and special students were present on the occasion. Dr Mumtaz said education was the only weapon to break all the barriers to success. Visually impaired guest speakers said disability was not inability.
