Ex-CJ visits Bacha Khan University
CHARSADDA: Pakistan’s former chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said here Thursday that the local villagers’ support to the law-enforcement agencies during the attack on the Bacha Khan University showed that the terrorists would be defeated soon.
Talking to reporters during his visit to the Bacha Khan University, he said the terrorists failed to materialise their designs to cause maximum damage during the attack due to the prompt response from the police.
“The university administration, students and local villagers deserve to be appreciated for their bravery and swift action against the attackers,” he stressed.
He said that 152 students had been killed in the terrorist attacks in the country, adding, the sacrifices of the Pakhtun people would not go in vain.
Responding to a question about the manifesto of his party, the retired chief justice said it wanted a Pakistan envisioned by its founders.
He said that parliamentary form of government had
failed and his party would introduce a presidential system for resolving the country’s problems. He said his party would take part in the next general elections.
