Modi’s blunder: Wishes birthday to Afghan president on wrong date
NEW DELHI: Indian Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi once again maintained his penchant for greeting his fellow leaders on social media website Twitter but this time, he made blunder after mistakenly wishing Afghanistan’s President Ashraf Ghani Happy Birthday three months earlier. The Indian PM took to the Twitter to greet Afghanistan president Ashraf Ghani ‘a happy birthday’. He posted “Happy birthday @ashrafghani. Praying for your long life and exceptional health and a joyful journey ahead.’’
Responding to this, the Afghan president thanked him and corrected him by saying that his birthday is on May 19. ‘‘@narendramodi Greetings from Munich Mr. PM. Although, my Birthday is on 19th May, but I’d still like to thank you for your gracious words.’’
