‘International Social Sciences Conference’ to start on 24th

Islamabad: Inter-University Consortium for Promotion of Social Sciences (IUCPSS) an alliance of more than 30 Pakistani universities and Jang Group will organise International Social Sciences Conference on 24-25 February, 2016, at Pak-China Friendship Center here.

A large number of academicians, diplomats, government officials, representatives of civil society, media, researchers, faculty and students will attend the expo. The main topics of the conference will include ‘Critical support to the social sciences from the media, the arts, and literature’; ‘Changing civilization, development, poverty and inequality’; ‘Devolving political & economic power, gender, ethnic and religious parity, international academic social science linkages’ and ‘Mass media-role and responsibilities’. The experts would highlight significance and constructive contribution of social sciences for socio-economic development of country and in addressing various problems being faced by Pakistani society. The international experts would share their experiences and would brief about how Pakistani academia and policymakers could benefit from their experiences. The registration process has also been announced.

The conference will be organised on the sidelines of first ever largest Social Sciences Expo of Asia on 24-25 February, 2016. The main objective of Social Sciences Expo 2016 is to highlight social issues and bring a positive change in society. Social Sciences Expo will also be a showcase of the latest developments and trends in social sciences. The other activities for the expo would include, parliamentary forum, diplomatic forum, scholars forum, vice chancellors forum, book fair, book launching ceremonies, essay writing competition, poster competition, case study competition, business plan competition, panel discussions, workshops, documentary production on social issues of Pakistan, photography and various other innovative events.

During the two-day expo, different universities, organisations and government departments would establish their pavilions such as ‘Hunar-Kada’, ‘Khidmat-e-Khalq’, ‘Business Gurus’, ‘Ehle-e-Zaban’, ‘Ablagh-e-Aama’, ‘Sifarat Khana’ and tourism.
