Imperialist agenda

The CPEC has been a contentious issue during the previous weeks. However, hats off to the political and strategic sagacity of those at the helm; the controversy has been put to rest and a consensus procured through the timely intervention of the prime minister.

With the political stumbling block on the CPEC surmounted, Pakistan was looking to the future. However, a spate of terrorist incidents, as warned by Obama, has been triggered to give the impression that the CPEC may not be viable at this moment. Add to this the financial meltdown facing China, and all the right-wing think tanks in the US warning of worse days ahead for the Chinese economy, there are reasons to believe that the reconfiguration of the global economy in the East is not going down well with the West, and all sorts of frantic efforts are being made to forestall their growth.
