Mamnoon asks youth to follow Quaid’s principles

ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain on Thursday called upon the youth to follow the principles of the Quaid-e-Azam by focusing their energies on getting education and work hard in their practical lives to contribute for the country’s development.

The president expressed these views in his address to a gathering of children from Anjuman-e-Faizul Islam at a function, held in connection with the Quaid’s birth anniversary here at Aiwan-e-Sadr.

The president said the Quaid-e-Azam always emphasised the importance of education and motivated the students to better prepare themselves to meet the challenges of world.

He said at present the country was facing the menace of terrorism and termed illiteracy and disassociation from values the reasons for this challenging situation.

President Mamnoon said corruption had also blemished the fabric of society and added that lack of moral and spiritual grooming were major culprits that were leading to corruption. He stressed the need for raising awareness against corrupt practices in society.

The president lauded the services of Anjuman-e-Faizul Islam for patronising the orphans by providing them education for the last 70 years.

He said such institutions working with selfless spirit were of great significance in society.He asked the orphan children to never feel discouraged in life and prove themselves by hard work and good character. He wished the students a bright future and expressed confidence that they would diligently follow the principles of Quaid-e-Azam to better serve the country.

President Anjuman-e-Faizul Islam Mian Muhammad Siddiq Akbar highlighted the activities of the institution which he said was founded in 1941 on the instructions of the Quaid-e-Azam to take care of the displaced children of Bengal.

He said the institution, launched by All India Muslim League’s Rawalpindi chapter with the patronage of 30 children had enhanced up to to six orphanages with 1,000 children — two in Rawalpindi and six in rural areas.

He mentioned that Anjuman-e-Faizul Islam was pursuing the cause of patronage of orphans without indulging in political, regional and sectarian matters.

Senior Vice President of Anjuman-e-Faizul Islam Professor Dr Riaz Ahmad, who has authored 30 books on Quaid-e-Azam, highlighted the glowing principles of the Quaid which he said was a beacon for all generations.The young students presented national songs and tableaus relating to the Quaid and the country.
