KARACHI: The referral system introduced by the Pakistan Hockey Federation in the National Championship has produced positive results, said Tournament Director Olympian Qamar Ibrahim.
Qamar told ‘The News’ that the system had not only enhanced the worth of the championship but it had also left a positive impact on the performance of the field umpires.
“The field umpires are more vigilant as their performance is being monitored through the cameras and no team has raised any objection on the decisions of the third umpire,” Qamar said.
Umpires Manager Dilawar Bhatti said the field umpires were more focused which was positive and had kept the ongoing championship free of controversies.
