‘Govt to streamline ADP implementation’

LAHORE:The bottlenecks hindering implementation of ADP 2021-22 must be highlighted and forwarded to the quarters concerned for their removal. The government will be focusing on streamlining the process.

This was stated by Planning & Development Board Chairman Abdullah Khan Sumbal while chairing a video conference regarding review of implementation status of ADP 2021-22 at P&D Complex.

The objective of the meeting was to discuss the status of development schemes and release of funds against ongoing projects at spending level of all sectors. It was informed that against 4,680 unapproved schemes on July 1, 2021 3,179 schemes had been approved while progress on approval of schemes at DDC level remained more than 96 per cent. It was also informed that Finance Department had released 100 per cent funds, Rs. 131 billion, on July 1, 2021 allocated for the approved ongoing schemes. The administrative departments have placed Rs68 billion at spending level and balance amount of Rs63 billion is yet to be placed at the spending level.

The Planning & Development Board chairman observed the guidelines and timeliness notified by the chief minister should be followed in the letter and spirit to ensure fast track implementation of ADP 2021-22. A proactive approach is required to kick start implementation of the ADP with a robust monitoring mechanism at all levels, he added. It was reiterated that review meetings on fortnightly basis will be convened at all levels to monitor implementation of ADP 2021-22. The meeting was attended by all the administrative secretaries, divisional commissioners and deputy commissioners, members of P&D Board and other senior officers.
