KARACHI: Australia-based Pakistan equestrian Usman Khan is sad at missing the Tokyo Olympics due to a couple of unfortunate incidents which denied him the opportunity to feature in the world’s most prestigious event.

“I had been waiting for 16 years, especially for the last couple of years, to see Pakistan’s contingent in the Olympics but it was not to be,” Usman told ‘The News’ from Australia on Tuesday.

“But when the Pakistan flag is in my hand or in the hand of any other it’s always a very proud moment. As a Pakistani I am hundred percent behind the people who are in Tokyo. I know what type of funding is available to the Pakistani athletes. With so little resources this raw talent is present in Tokyo where they are to compete with the polished talent of the world. When there is a fight between the polished and raw talent passion wins and you have seen this in Talha Talib who made Pakistan proud the other day,” Usman said.
