Student tortured; Qari among three arrested

LAHORE:A 13-year-old boy was tortured by a mosque imam in the Kot Lakhpat area on Tuesday. Police arrested Qari Tariq and two other accused. Victim Shahzad, a resident of Katcha Jail Road, Kot Lakhpat, had observed leave from the madressa without any notice.

HIT TO DEATH: A 21-year-old youth was killed when his speeding motorcycle rammed into a garbage truck near Shah Farid Darbar in the Sabzazar area on Tuesday. The youth, identified as Arsalan, a resident of Dohlanwal, died on the spot. Police removed the body to the morgue.

cell phones: Defence C police arrested two cell phone snatchers and recovered a bike and two pistols from their possession. The accused Ghazanfar and Mustansar used to snatch cell phones and purse from ladies. Sherakot police arrested two cattle thieves Boota and Ashraf and recovered eight cows from their possession.

BODY FOUND: Body of a 35-year-old man, unidentified so far, was found in the Nawab Town area on Tuesday. The man was found dead on the sidewalk near Shaukat Khanum Bridge. Police claimed he was a beggar. Police removed the body to morgue.
