PESHAWAR: The Qaumi Muharram Committee has formed sub-committees to take stock of the security measures put in place for peaceful observance of Muharram. The decision to form the committees was taken at a meeting, said a press release. Qaumi Muharram Committee head Akhunzada Mujahid Ali Akbar chaired the meeting.
Shia Ulema Council Pakistan’s central leader Zahid Ali Akhunzada and Allama Syed Arshad Ali Shah Naqvi, Agha Syed Murtaza Abbas Rizvi Shahid Imdad Baig, Syed Azhar Ali Shah Jafri and others attended the meeting.
The participants said the committees would ensure to observe the standard operating procedures during mourning sessions and processions to contain the coronavirus. The meeting was informed about the measures being taken for the security of the imambargahs and the routes of the mourning processions.
