Islamabad : Women Action Forum (WAF) has expressed deep shock and condemnation of the barbaric murder and beheading of a young woman in the heart of the federal capital.
In a statement issued by WAF, the Forum expressed grave concern over the increasing incidents of violent crimes against women, with increasing impunity. ‘We extend our condolences, solidarity and support to the family of the victim, and stand ready to assist them, if required,” it said.
WAF demanded the government to take all steps to ensure justice to the victim’s family and stringent measures be put in place to ensure that Zahir Jaffer, the murderer nominated in the FIR, is not allowed to leave the country, legally or illegally.
“Our criminal justice system must not continue to fail Pakistani women victims or survivors,” said the statement at the end.
