Girl dies after falling into manhole

LAHORE:A five-year old girl died after falling into an open manhole while playing in the street in the Hanjarwal police area on Sunday. The victim Momina, a daughter of a labourer of Shadiwal, was playing in the street when she fell into an open manhole and died. According to the police, the manhole was open and the girl suddenly fell into it and died. Police handed over the body to the heirs.

electrocuted: A labourer was electrocuted while switching on a water pump in a house in Sitara Colony, Factory Area on Tuesday. The victim, yet to be identified, had come to a house in Sitara Colony for manual work. He received fatal electric shock when he switched on the water pump and died on the spot. The accused used to extort money from people on the pretext of sending them abroad. In many cases, the clients had to return from midway while many were not sent abroad despite paying the amount. arrested: Ghaziabad police claimed to have arrested two bike-lifters and recovered a bike from their possession. The accused were identified as Nawaz alias Bhalo and Imran. Garhi Shahu Investigation police arrested a rickshaw driver and recovered four sheep from his possession. The accused Awais had taken the citizen down from the rickshaw on the pretext of brake failure and drove away along with his four sheep.
