NOWSHERA: The KP Anti-Corruption Department has completed the investigation into illegal recruitment in Qazi Hussain Ahmad Medical Complex and sought permission to register a case against the accused and recover the money from them to compensate for the losses inflicted on the exchequer, officials said.

“The department has completed the probe into the illegal recruitment of nine technicians, six pharmacists, one senior and four junior clerks. The permission has been sought from KP Chief Secretary Kazim Niaz to proceed further by booking the accused and recovering the salaries,” Saeed Jan, an official Anti-Corruption Department in Nowshera, told The News

He said the nine technicians have already been terminated and now the salaries they had received will be recovered from them. In another development, the departmental investigation has been launched into the recruitment in Qazi Hussain Ahmad Medical Complex and Nowshera Medical College.

National Accountability Bureau in Peshawar will start today a probe into illegalities in the recruitment at the Qazi Hussain Ahmad Medical Complex and Nowshera Medical College and anomalies in various contracts. Saeed Jan confirmed to The News that investigation was going on in seven cases pertaining to the complex and college. He added that some inquiries had reached its logical conclusion.

The official said KP Anti-Corruption Department Director-General Usman Zaman had sent the inquiry reports to KP Chief Secretary Kazim Niaz to seek his permission for FIR registration. He explained that permission was required as some grade 19 and 20 officers were involved in the cases along with those who obtained jobs by producing fake credentials.

He said permission had been sought to register FIR in three separate cases of illegal appointments of six pharmacists, four junior and senior clerks against fake documents. Saeed Jan said 11 projects were being investigated for the alleged use of sub-standard building material. He said three inquiries had been completed while work was on the remaining one. Qazi Hussain Ahmad Medical Complex Hospital Director Arshad Khan confirmed having written to the DPO for recovery of salaries from nine technicians already dismissed from service.
