SUKKUR: Former federal minister Ghulam Murtaza Jatoi and Sardar Chakar Khan Shahani, leaders of Jatoi and Shahani clans respectively, have decided to end their tribal conflict through a jirga on July 27, led by Mir Manzoor Panhwar.
Reports said the GDA chief Peer Sahab Pagara, Dr Ibarhim Jatoi, Liquat Jatoi, Sardar Rafiq Jamali and others had persuaded Chakar Shahani and Murtaza Jatoi to stop their feud. They said both the leaders had responded positively and committed to end their fight after settling the issues through local jirga. On Saturday, they had announced a ceasefire. Meanwhile, the Shahani men had evacuated Jatoi’s bungalow. On the police side, despite maintaining law and order situation according to the authorities, SSP Dadu Aijaz Ahmed Sheikh kept requesting them to stop and maintain law and order situation, while he also called them the ‘Heavyweights’, and seemingly out of the reach of the law.
