Increasing trend in vegetable, spices prices continues

LAHORE : Increasing trend in the prices of some Eid essential vegetables and violation of official price list continued.

Nowhere in the city official price list was implemented expect Shadman Sahulat bazaar where almost all vegetables and fruits were being sold at official rates. However, other Sahulat bazaars in the city are selling low quality items. These bazaars are only consuming official resources in the form of establishment cost and appointment of government.

This week again prices of onions, garlic, tomatoes, green chili, ginger and coriander remained high. The prices of chicken meat continued to fall as its consumption will be minimum in next couple of weeks.

This week the price of chicken, live bird, was further reduced by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs143 per kg, while it was sold at Rs150 to 160 per kg, and chicken meat declined by Rs37 per kg, fixed at Rs207 per kg, and sold Rs220 to 250 per kg.

The price of potato soft skin new A-grade was further gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs67 to 70 per kg, sold at Rs100 per kg, B-Grade Rs60 to 63 per kg sold at Rs80 per kg, potato sugar free A-grade was fixed at Rs40 to 42 per kg, sold at Rs60 to 70 per kg, B-grade at Rs34 to 36 per kg, mixed sold at Rs50 to 55 per kg, potato white fixed Rs26 to 28 per kg, sold at Rs40 to 50 per kg.

The price of onion A-grade was fixed at Rs44 to 46 per kg, sold at Rs55 to 65 per kg, B-grade fixed at Rs39 to 41 per kg, sold at Rs45 to 50 per kg, and C-grade at Rs34 to 36 per kg, sold at Rs40 to 45 per kg.

The price of tomato A-grade was further increased by Rs8 per kg, fixed at Rs70 to 73 per kg, sold at Rs100 to 120 per kg, B-grade fixed at Rs64 to 66 per kg, and C-grade at Rs60 to 62 per kg, B and C quality mixed sold at Rs60 to 70 per kg.

The price of garlic local was fixed at Rs130 to 135 per kg, sold at Rs180 to 200 per kg, garlic Chinese price was not fixed sold at Rs240 to 280 per kg, Garlic Harnai was gained by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs200 to 205 per kg, sold at Rs240 per kg.

Ginger Chinese was reduced by Rs70 per kg, fixed at Rs430 to 440 per kg, sold at Rs500 to 600 per kg.

Spinach was reduced by Rs2 per kg, fixed at Rs20 to 21 per kg, sold at Rs40 to 50 per kg.

Zucchini white was reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs45 to 47 per kg, sold at Rs80 per kg and Zucchni local black unchanged at Rs90 to 93 per kg, sold at Rs120 to 140 per kg.

The price of lemon local unchanged at Rs110 to 115 per kg, sold at Rs120 to 140 per kg.

Green chili price A-grade declined by Rs37 at Rs90 to 93 per kg, sold at Rs160 per kg, B-grade by Rs40 per kg, fixed at Rs50 to 52 per kg, sold at Rs80 to 100 per kg.

Price of cauliflower was reduced by Rs16 per kg fixed at Rs65 to 67 per kg, sold at Rs100 to 120 per kg, and cabbage by Rs8 per kg, fixed at Rs60 to 62 per kg, sold at Rs80to 100 per kg. Turnip was reduced by Rs26 per kg, fixed at Rs50 to 52 per kg, sold at Rs80 per kg.

Beetroot was reduced by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs60 to 65 per kg, sold at Rs100 per kg.

The price of different variety of apples was fixed at Rs48 to 160 per kg, B-grade sold at Rs80 to 120 per kg and A grade was sold at Rs180 to 220 per kg.

The price of banana A-category was further reduced by Rs22 per dozen, fixed at Rs70 to 73 per dozen, sold at Rs130 per dozen, and B-category fixed at Rs55 to 57 per dozen, sold at Rs80 to 100 per dozen, and C-category fixed at Rs42 to 44 per dozen, sold at Rs60 to 80 per dozen.

Peach A-grade was reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs150 to 155 per kg, sold at Rs200 per kg, B-grade was fixed at Rs75 to78 per kg, and it sold at Rs120 to 140 per kg.

Cantaloupe was fixed at Rs64 to 66 per kg, sold at Rs60 to 100 per kg.

Apricot gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs195 to 200 per kg, sold at Rs250 to 300 per kg.

Mangoes of different variety were fixed at Rs42 to 125 per kg, sold at Rs80 to 200 per kg.

Plump A grade was gained by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs255 to 265 per kg, sold at Rs300 per kg, B-grade was fixed at Rs130 to 135 per kg, sold at Rs180 to 200 per kg.

Grapes black was reduced by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs150 to 155 per kg, sold at Rs200 per kg, and Sundarkhnai was fixed at Rs215 to 225 per kg, sold at Rs260 to 280 per kg, grapes gola was increased by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs140 to 145 per kg, sold at Rs160 to 180 per kg.

Jambolan was fixed at Rs115 to 120 per kg, sold at Rs160 per kg. Pomegranate local was fixed at Rs155 to 160 per kg, sold at Rs200 per kg. Peer was gained by Rs12 per kg, fixed at Rs85 to 90 per kg, sold at Rs80 to 120 per kg.
