Rangers to be deployed in AJK polls
MUZAFFARABAD: As many as 5,094 polling stations have been set up for Azad Kashmir elections on July 25.
1,458 polling stations have been declared as highly sensitive, while 2,561 have been declared normal. Rangers will be deployed instead of the Pakistan Army in 33 constituencies, while FC, Islamabad Police and AJK Police will also be deployed in all 10 districts.
All the secretaries will be present in the capital except two holidays of Eid. Central control rooms have been set up, and armed forces would be ready in case of emergency. Sources said security arrangements for elections on July 25 will be handed over to Rangers, FC and state police. Strict checking on external routes will be ensured, and display of weapons will also be prohibited.
The polling process will continue till 5:00pm. Public gatherings/rallies outside the polling station on the day of polling and holding speeches and ceremonies will also be banned.
The Election Commission of AJK will assist the police and administration in controlling the situation by reaching the desired place and the media will have full access to make the election process neutral.
