Model found dead at house in DHA

LAHORE : A model was found dead at her house in DHA Phase-5, Defence-B here on Sunday.

The 29-year-old victim identified as Nayab was found strangled to death. She was unmarried and had two half-brothers. Unknown suspects entered the house and strangled her. Police have registered a case on the complaint of her half-brother Muhammad Ali.

As per the complainant, Nayab lived alone in her house in Defence and he used to visit his sister. He said he picked Nayab from her house at 12pm on July 9 and dropped her at the house after eating an ice cream in Gulberg area. He said he visited the victim’s house at 8pm on July 10, and found a small door of the house open. The main gate of the house was found closed and the grill of the bathroom’s window was broken, he said. According to the complaint, when the victim’s brother entered the house, he found the model’s body lying naked in the lounge and there were scars on her neck. Police shifted the body to the morgue to ascertain the cause of death.

1,00,008 cops vaccinated: At least 20,507 police officers and personnel of the Punjab police between the ages of 50 and 60 and 26,535 officers and personnel between the ages of 40 and 50 have been vaccinated against coronavirus.

As per DIG Welfare, the process of corona vaccination of officers and personnel in the age group of 30-40 years is also in full swing and so far 52966 officers and personnel in the age group of 30-40 years have been vaccinated.

He further said that besides district police in all the districts, corona vaccination is also being carried out in Punjab Constabulary, Investigation Punjab, Special Branch, CTD, Traffic, SPU, PHP and other field formations.

Vehicles asked to remove stickers: CTO Lahore has ordered to remove all the stickers displayed on the screens of public transports.

He said that stickers on public transport screens also gave the impression of corruption.

There will be no stickers on public transport other than the route, he said, adding that stickers have been removed from over 300 wagons, buses and commercial vehicles in two days.

He further said that removal of irrelevant stickers from public transport would uphold the rule of law.
