Govt’s priority is cheaper cars, not the poor: Shehbaz

LAHORE: PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif said the government has given subsidies on the import of luxury vehicles instead of the poor. In a statement here Saturday, he said the incumbent government has not made its priority to allow subsidies on sugar, atta, ghee and edible oil. “Its main focus remained that imported cars should be cheap and spike in the prices of essential commodities is deplorable.”
He remarked that prices of essential commodities soared by 15.37 percent in June 2021. This is charge sheet against the government over its mismanagement and incompetence. “The inflation surged by 17.58 percent for Pakistanis who are living below poverty line.”
