PDF observes July 5 as black day
PESHAWAR: People’s Doctors Forum (PDF) observed July 5 as a black day to protest against the toppling of elected Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s government by military dictator Gen Ziaul Haq on this day decades ago.
The doctors from various parts of the province attended a meeting, chaired by Dr Nisar.Speaking on the occasion, Dr Nisar termed July 5 as the black day when the dictators had played a negative role against democracy in the country’s history. He said ZA Bhutto was working for the welfare and prosperity of the poor and he was punished for it.The speakers paid tribute to the services of the Bhutto family for the country and nation and vowed to follow the golden principles of the party leaders. They said they would render every sacrifice till the achievement of people’s rights.
