Man arrested for killing friend

LAHORE: Johar Town investigation police arrested a man on charges of killing his friend. The accused Mustafa invited his friend Ali Zafar and his wife to his house. The accused served the couple cold drinks laced with sedatives which worsened their condition. The accused, who had a bad eye on Ali’s wife, tried to rape her. She raised alarm, on which the locals called police. Both Ali and his wife were rushed to Jinnah Hospital but Ali Zafar could not recover.

Two injured: Two men fell into a hole during excavation work at a juice corner near Data Darbar on Sunday. On being informed, the rescuers rushed to the spot and pulled out two survivors from the excavated area. The injured identified as Irshad, 20, son of Hazrat, and Majeed, 26, son of Manzoor, were admitted to hospital.

found dead: A 65-year old man was found dead in the limits of Shadman police station on Sunday. Some locals spotted the body of a man lying in Shadman Park and informed the police. Body was shifted to the morgue.

thieves arrested: Lohari Gate police claimed to have arrested two thieves and recovered weapons from them. The accused were identified as Osama and Daniyal. The accused used to commit crimes on rented bikes.

Body found: Body of a 25-year old youth was recovered from Ravi River on Sunday. The body, yet to be identified, looked two to three days old. Police shifted the body to morgue.

Youth dies: A 17-year old bike-rider lost his life due to overspeeding in the Johar Town area on Sunday. The victim was identified as Ali Shahid, son of Shahid Rasool. The bike rammed into a footpath due to overspeeding. He was rushed to hospital but could not recover. Police handed over the body to the heirs.
