MoU inked for training of TVET leaders, instructors
Islamabad: National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) under the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training is providing latest technological skills to Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) leaders and instructors in its efforts to affiliate/accredit Pakistani institutes with reputed international organisations. For this NAVTTC has signed a MoU with world renowned Institute of Technical Education Services (ITEES) Singapore. For the first batch of TVET leadership training Singapore’s Temasek Foundation will be providing funding for training by Singapore ITEES.
It is pertinent to mention that NAVTTC is establishing 75 high-tech skill centers across Pakistan for providing the latest technological skills to Pakistani youth. These high-tech skill centers will be equipped with all latest facilities like distance learning, smart labs, job placement centers etc. The Heads of these high-tech skill centers will be provided leadership training under TF-NAVTTC-ITEES project which will enable them to implement latest training methodologies in these high-tech centers. The first phase of training will start in August, 2021.
This partnership is expected to be of great value for revamping Pakistan’s TVET sector as Singapore has one of the most innovative and well established TVET systems in the world.
