Motor mechanic arrested for torturing child

LAHORE: A motor mechanic has been arrested for severely torturing a child who was his apprentice in Shahdara for reaching the shop late. The incident was captured on a video secretly filmed by a customer. The victim makes a lot of hue and cry and also pleads innocence but the ‘sadist’ natured motor mechanic does not pay heed to it. As the video was shared on social media, it went viral. Police took notice of the incident and arrested the suspect.

The victim child in the video has been identified as Fiazan and the suspect as Waqar. The accused runs a shop named Saqlain autos. Police have arrested him and registered a case against him. During the investigations, it came forth that the victim child worked as an apprentice at his shop. The motor mechanic would brutally torture the victim on very minor issues. In the video, he was torturing him because he got a bit late reaching back in the shop after doing a minor work. Police said that they were investigating the matter further.

Meanwhile, the DIG Operations Lahore met an eight-year-old boy, Faizan, who was tortured by a motorcycle mechanic at his shop in the Shahdara area on Tuesday. The DIG Operations expressed solidarity with Faizan's father and gave gifts to his family. He said that motorcycle mechanic, Waqar, had been arrested and strict legal action would be taken against him. He said steps would be taken for Faizan’s education.

Commits suicide: A 25-year-old youth committed suicide by hanging himself from a fan in the Mughalpura area on Tuesday. The deceased, identified as Ghous Subhani, 25, was father of two. Unknown domestic issues forced him to end his life, his family sources said. Edhi volunteers removed the body to morgue.

found dead: A 30-year-old unidentified man has been found dead under suspicious circumstances in the Mughalpura police limits on Tuesday. A passerby spotted the victim lying in an unconscious condition on a footpath and informed police.
