Five die in various mishaps in city

Five people lost their lives in separate mishaps in parts of the city on Sunday. A man died and a woman was injured after a motorcycle collided with a car in the Mauripur area. They were taken to the Civil Hospital, Karachi, where the deceased person was identified as 32-year-old Sarwar, son of Sadiq, and the injured as Sarwat, 28, wife of Kashif. Police have arrested the car driver.

Separately, 55-year-old Ilyas, son of Azeemuddin, died when an unidentified speedy car hit his motorcycle within the limits of the Baloch Colony police station. A case has been registered.

In another mishap, a labourer died after falling off an under construction building in the Gulshan-e-Maymar area. He was identified as Imran Ali, 30, a resident of Afghan Basti.

Meanwhile, a young man, who is yet to be identified, died after a train hit him while he was crossing the railway track in Quaidabad. His body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.

In an electrocution incident, a 45-year-old man identified as Mehmood Fazal died after he suffered electric shocks in Orangi Town within the limits of the Mominabad police station. The body was moved to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
