NA speaker forms 14-member body on legislative business
ISLAMABAD: National Assembly (NA) Speaker Asad Qaiser in consultation with the parliamentary leaders Thursday constituted a 14-member Committee on Legislative Business with equal representation from treasury and opposition benches.
The Committee on Legislative Business comprises Defence Minister Pervez Khattak, Minister for Planning Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar, Minister for Housing and Works Chaudhary Tariq Bashir Cheema, Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Dr Fehmida Mirza, Adviser to Prime Minister on Parliamentary Affairs Zaheer-ud-Din Babar Awan, MNAs Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, and Khalid Hussain Magsi from government while from opposition former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, former NA speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Rana Sanaullah Khan, Syed Naveed Qamar, Ms. Shazia Marri, Ms. Shahida Akhtar Ali and Agha Hassan Baloch.
The committee would finalise Its Terms of Reference (TORs) on issues which would be referred to from time to time. The committee would submit its report to the NA Speaker. The National Assembly Secretariat has issued notification in this regard.
