KARACHI: Islamabad United skipper Shadab Khan has said that his team has shown a strong attitude, adding they would need to improve in minor areas ahead of their next two games in the playoffs.
“You cannot think so about the result. We had effort in our hand, the way we fought and the way we restricted them (Multan) after a fine start from them in ten overs. This shows character and attitude which show that we come here to offer hundred percent,” Shadab said after United galloped to their seventh win by beating Multan by four wickets on Saturday night.
“We have such a unit, if we give our hundred percent, then good results will come,” Shadab was quick to add.
He said that they would try to exploit Multan’s batting weakness in the Qualifier. “Multan have no batting depth. They have a long tail. We will try to get out their top order and to play tail more,” he said.
Shadab said that he just wants effort from his charges. “I don’t demand more as a captain. I only demand effort. Little bit of improvement is needed. We should check lapses in our batting as we did today in the end because it becomes difficult in pressure situations. We will work on this,” Shadab pointed out.
“In bowling we are leaking more runs and it becomes difficult for you to make a comeback in pressure situations so we will try not to let it happen in coming matches,” said Shadab, Pakistan’s seasoned leggie.
