Electricity workers hold referendum

Lahore: The electricity workers held a referendum in Lahore Electric Supply Company areas to determine collective bargaining agent for two years. The Lahore Electric Supply Company Workers Union (Regd) won the referendum by securing 11,092 votes while it rival Paigham Union got only 6,589 votes.
Khurshid Ahmed, veteran trade union leader, appreciated the workers for holding the referendum peacefully and declared that the union would spare no efforts to raise productivity of electricity. He said it would provide better service to electricity consumers and continue effort for acceptance of just demands of the workers for safe working conditions, bringing the remaining daily labour on regular basis and raise dignity of work.
