One held, bomb, explosives recovered in Jamrud

JAMRUD: The security forces arrested an accused and recovered a bomb and explosives from a vehicle during action at Bhagiari check-post in Jamrud tehsil in Khyber tribal district on Tuesday.

Taking action on intelligence-based information, the security forces signalled a vehicle and upon checking a bomb and explosives were recovered from its secret cavities. An accused, whose name could not be ascertained, was also arrested.

The personnel of Bomb Disposal Unit were called out, who successfully defused the bomb and the explosives. The security forces later also conducted a search operation and declared the area cleared. Earlier, the Pak-Afghan Highway was closed for traffic as a precautionary measure to prevent damage to property or loss of human lives.
