LAHORE: PML-N Vice President and Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly Hamza Shahbaz had meetings with Kisan Ittehad and Kisan Board delegations on Monday.
He assured farmers that issues with solution to their problems will be highlighted in the Punjab Assembly during the forthcoming budget. He said, “In our time, the legitimate demands of the farmers have always been met, electricity tariffs have been worked out and issues like low voltage and load-shedding had been addressed on priority basis”.
He further added: “Subsidies were given during PML-N era, tractors and laser land’s levers were also given under subsidy all over Punjab. Fertilizers were available at reasonable prices and GST on all pesticides had been abolished.” “Unfortunately farmers are being treated badly in the current era and being exploited”, Hamza maintained. In the meeting, the farmers' leaders expressed distrust in government policies.
