Hashmi accuses govt of harassment
MULTAN: Senior politician Javed Hashmi on Saturday said he is the prime victim of harassment by the Imran Khan government which is blackmailing and politically crushing opponents.
Talking to journalists here, he said the government has committed a robbery by withdrawing Rs 5.2 million from the account of her daughter without prior notice in violation of court orders. He said the Federal Board of Revenue has drawn Rs 5.2 million from the account of his daughter Amina Javed Hashmi without intimation. He said this act of robbery is a big humiliation of the nation. He said the Lahore High Court had stayed forcefully drawing money from her account and the court passed that order in May.
He said the FBR had illegally drawn Rs 5.2 million on June 4 in violation of the LHC order. The government and the FBR have committed contempt of court, he said, adding that the FBR has drawn money from his daughter's account in the name of "so-called tax recovery".
