Fruits, vegetables prices remain high in Sahulat Bazaars

LAHORE:Sahulat Bazaars established on the instructions of Prime Minister Imran Khan are not selling all seasonal fruits and the prices of the fruits they are selling are the same of the prices of the fruits sold by roadside vendors, which means these bazaars are not providing relief to the visitors.

Vegetables are not being sold in these Sahulat Bazaars. The administrative officials at these points say that due to high prices of vegetables, vendors are not interested to come here and sell their commodities at official rates. Vegetables are not being sold at official rates anywhere in the city while the authorities concerned are submitting reports that all is in control.

This week again prices of fruits and vegetables remained high. Overcharging of these commodities and all types of meat continued. This week the price of chicken, live bird, was further reduced by Rs18 per kg, fixed at Rs216 per kg, and sold at Rs230 to 250 per kg, and chicken, meat, by Rs26 per kg, fixed at Rs313 per kg, and sold Rs350 to 400 per kg.

The price of potato soft skin new A-grade was further gained by Rs6 per kg, fixed at Rs50 to 53 per kg, sold at Rs70 to 80 per kg, B-Grade Rs44 to 47 per kg sold at Rs70 per kg, potato sugar free A-grade was fixed at Rs40 to 43 per kg, sold at Rs50 to 55 per kg, B-grade at Rs34 to 37 per kg, mixed sold at Rs40 to 45per kg, potato white fixed Rs24 to 26 per kg, sold at Rs45 to 50 per kg.

The price of onion A-grade was increased by Rs6 per kg, fixed at Rs26 to 28 per kg, sold at Rs30 to 35 per kg, B-grade fixed at Rs22 to 24 per kg, and C-grade at Rs18 to 20 per kg, B&C grade mixed sold at Rs20 to 25 per kg.

The price of tomato A-grade was increased by Rs1 per kg, fixed at Rs21 to 23 per kg, sold at Rs30 to 40 kg, B-grade fixed at Rs17 to 19 per kg, and C-grade at Rs13 to 15 per kg, B and C quality mixed sold at Rs20 to 25 per kg.

The price of garlic local was gained by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs125 to 130 per kg, sold at Rs220 to 260 per kg, garlic Chinese price was not fixed sold at Rs200 per kg, Garlic Harnai was fixed at Rs130 to 135 per kg, sold at Rs160 to 180 per kg.

Brinjal price was gained by Rs8 per kg, fixed at Rs48 to 50 per kg, sold at Rs60 to 80 per kg. Spinach was unchanged at Rs30 to 32 per kg, sold at Rs50 per kg.

The price of pea was further increased by Rs23 per kg, fixed at Rs200 to 207 per kg, not sold.

Carrot Chinese was gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs35 to 37 per kg, sold at Rs60 to 80 per kg, carrot local fixed at Rs100 to 104 per kg, not sold.

The price of different variety of apples was gained by Rs8 per kg, fixed at Rs63 to 170 per kg, B-grade sold at Rs100 to 140 per kg, and A grade was sold at Rs250 to 300 per kg.

Melon was gained by Rs4 per kg, fixed at Rs67 to 70 per kg sold at Rs50 to 80 per kg, hybrid melon was fixed at Rs34 to 36 per kg, sold at Rs40 to 50 per kg.

Watermelon was increase by Rs7 per kg, fixed at Rs24 to 26 per kg, sold at Rs25 to 40 per kg.

Peach A-grade was gained by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs140 to 145 per kg, sold at Rs140 to 180 per kg, B-grade was fixed at Rs758 to 81 per kg, and it sold at Rs80 to 130 per kg.

Apricot yellow was gained by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs130 to 135 per kg, sold at Rs160 to 200 per kg, Apricot white was by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs170 to 175 per kg, sold at Rs200 to 250 per kg.

Mangoes of different variety was fixed at Rs40 to 170 per kg, sold at Rs100 to 250 per kg. Plump A grade was fixed at Rs280 to 290 per kg, sold at Rs350 per kg, B-grade was fixed at Rs145 to 150 per kg, sold at Rs200 to 250 per kg. Grapes gola was fixed at Rs130 to 135 per kg, sold at Rs160 per kg.
