Shuhada Library, block inaugurated in Nowshera
NOWSHERA: Major General Asif Ali, Commandant Artillery Centre Nowshera, inaugurated Shuhada Library and a new block at the Army Public School Zamzama here on Wednesday.
Several functions were arranged to remember the schoolchildren and staff martyred in the attack on the Army Public School and College in Peshawar on December 16, last year. The main function was organised at the Army Public School Zamzama, where Commandant of the Artillery Centre Maj-Gen Asif was the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the nation was united in the war against terrorism and that the war would continue till the elimination of last terrorist and their abettors. He along with the schoolchildren laid floral wreaths at the graves of the martyred children in the district. He also inaugurated a Shuhada Library and a new block at the school.
Other functions in the district were held at the Government High School in Nowshera Cantonment and Sher Shah Higher Secondary School in Dag Ismailkhel. The students of these schools also laid floral wreaths at the grave of Sher Shah Shaheed.
Students and teachers of other schools also held rallies to pay homage to the martyred students. Officials of the district administration, police and education department also participated in the events.
