Five people, including four children, killed in rain-related incidents

SUKKUR: Five people were killed in rain-related incidents in district Larkana and other districts on Monday as heavy rain with winds was reported in most parts of Sindh, including Sukkur, Khairpur, Naushahro Feroze, Bhan Saeedabad, Mithiani and other cities.

Reports said the roof of a dilapidated house, located in Ahsan Colony in district Larkana, collapsed due to heavy rain and as a result, a 60-year-old man, Munawwar Bhutto, and his three-year-old niece, Bakhtawar, were killed. The rescue workers retrieved the bodies from the rubble and moved them to a local hospital for medico-legal formalities. Similarly, an incident occurred in the limits of Wagon Police Station of Larkana, where the roof of a house collapsed, killing seven-year-old Najma.

Meanwhile, a six-year-old boy, Sultan, and an eight-year-old girl, Begum Khatoon, were injured in an accident. The rescue team transferred the injured to the Chandka Medical Hospital for treatment. Reports said a 14-year-old boy, Abdul Karim Babar, fell down from the roof of a seminary and died on spot. In the limits of Qambar-Shahdadkot, a girl, identified as Saima Chandio, was hurt by thunder.
