Woman burnt alive by husband dies in hospital

FAISALABAD: A woman, who was burnt alive by her husband two days ago, died in the Allied Hospital here on Tuesday.
Riaz Ahmad of Chak 215/RB had allegedly burnt his wife Sumaira alive over a domestic dispute two days ago. She was under treatment in the hospital where she died. Police have registered a murder case.
UC SECRETARY HELD: The ACE arrested a secretary and a naib qasid of UC-196 (Gatwala) for corruption on Tuesday.
The ACE team raided the UC office and arrested secretary Amir Ali and naib qasid Nadeem Ahmad when they were allegedly receiving Rs 1,000 bribe from complainant Muhammad Younis for issuance of a birth certificate. During the raid, marked currency notes were also recovered from the accused.
