Eight people received injuries when a big pot of milk Sabeel fell on them in front of Data Darbar on Thursday.
Rescue teams reached the spot and provided first-aid to five victims and shifted three others to Mayo Hospital. A rescue official said the victims were waiting for their turn in a queue to get milk from the Sabeel when the pot fell on them.
Man killed in accident: A 45-year-old man was killed when a speeding car hit him in Shadbagh police limits on Thursday.
Police removed the body to morgue for autopsy and registered a case. SI Ishtiaq said the victim was going somewhere at late night when a speeding car hit him near Nakhuda Chowk, Wasanpura. As a result, he received injuries. Rescue 1122 shifted the victim to Mayo Hospital where the doctors pronounced him as brought dead.
EIGHT KILLED IN ACCIDENTS: At least 691 accidents were reported in Provincial Monitoring Cell of Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) in all 36 Districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours in which eight lives were lost and 458 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant districts. Some 225 victims, who sustained minor injuries, were discharged on the spot after provision of first aid by Emergency Medical Teams.
