CHARSADDA: A councillor on Wednesday told the Charsadda District Council members that there were hideouts of militants and bomb-making factories in Katozai union council in Shabqadar tehsil.
Speaking at the session of the District Council in Charsadda, Shahid Khan of the Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) alleged that there were hideouts of the militants, bomb-making factories and dens of heroin smugglers in places located in the Katozai union council. He said the silence of the police over the illegal activities in the area was deplorable. He said the security forces had conducted search operation and arrested several militants from Katozai in the past. He alleged that the police were not taking any action against the anti-social elements in the area.
Leader of the opposition, Qasim Ali Khan Muhammadzai and others complained that the cops were involved in taking bribes. They also made complaints about other govt institutions, alleging that Wapda employees were involved in power theft and patronizing big power pilfers. The members also alleged irregularities in the Insaf Seed Programme, saying the seeds were being sold in the open market.
