168-bed women hospital starts work

ABBOTTABAD: The Women Teaching Hospital with 168 beds in the public sector has started work here on Monday.
Talking to local journalists, the Executive Director Women Teaching Hospital Abbottabad Haji Iftikhar Khan said that the 168-bed hospital had been established at the cost of Rs400 million.
He said that all the equipment had been installed in the hospital to provide better treatment facilities and services to the patients.He said the wards including Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Cardiac Care Unit (CCU), Orthopedic, Eye, ENT, Medical, Surgery, Children, Gynae, Nursery, Labour Room and Burn Unit were established and added that well-equipped laboratories were also established where tests for the CT Scan, Ultrasound, X-Ray, Hepatitis would be conducted. “Thirty-five private rooms with electronic beds have also been established,” he added.
He said that dozens of specialist and senior and junior doctors had been appointed in the hospital to discharge their duties round the clock.
Iftikhar Khan said that well-furnished Emergency Unit had also been set up where 24- hour emergency cover would be provided to the patients.He said that about 200 locals including technical and non-technical staff had been employed in the hospital.
