NOWSHERA: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Saturday said that his government was committed to eradicating poverty and changing the present discriminatory system on priority basis.
Speaking to a convention of members of district and tehsil councils of PK-13 here, he said, “The journey to real change has been started.”
The chief minister added that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had released Rs8 billion for upgradation of all the health facilities and the patients would soon get better health facilities in public sector hospitals.
He maintained that the people would feel the change in the performance of the biggest public sector hospitals in the coming days.
“We are empowering the District Headquarters Hospitals to purchase medicines, other necessary equipment and recruit required staff. These initiatives would help provision of improved health facilities to patients in public sector health facilities,” the chief minister said.
He said the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI)-led provincial government was streamlining the faulty system. He added that his government had made an end to the political interference and empowered the government departments.
He said the government had eradicated corruption from government departments and held accountable the corrupt and looters of public money.
“The corrupt officials would be held accountable for their wrong doings,” the chief minister reiterated.
He asked the councillors to start executing their responsibilities instead of wasting their energies on staging protests and demanding more powers.
He said that the provincial government had released 30 percent of the Annual Development Plan (ADP) to the local governments.
He directed the district governments to pinpoint the need-based uplift projects in their respective areas to facilitate the masses.
