From Our Correspondent
TOBA TEK SINGH: Gojra PTI leader Osama Hamza (son of PML-N Senator M Hamza) has accused the returning officer of changing the result of Union Council No-16 in favour of a defeated candidate on the alleged ruling party’s pressure.
Talking to newsmen here on Wednesday, he claimed that PTI candidate Shahzad Akhtar had secured 1811 votes while defeated independent candidate Muhammad Aslam had obtained 1806 votes. He alleged that Aslam was declared winner by the margin of five votes in an illegally held recounting. He said that the PTI candidate was not present in the so-called recounting. He said that the PTI had result certificates issued by the presiding officers of all polling stations of the union council and according to the result of presiding officers, the PTI candidate was winner. He said that the PTI would file an appeal in the apex court against the decision of the returning officer, who is the Gojra commerce college principal.
