FAISALABAD: A man was crushed to death by a train here.
Muhammad Hussain of Millat Town was crossing a railway line when a train killed him. Police have shifted the body to the Allied Hospital for autopsy.
FIVE TOUTS ARRESTED: Sadr Assistant Commissioner Rafia Haider arrested five touts outside the passport office here.
The AC raided and arrested accused Zulfiqar Ahmad, Muhammad Ali, Muhammad Usman, Hamid Mehmood and Naveed Ahmad on the charges fleecing and extracting money from the passport applicants to facilitate them in getting their passports quickly.
The raid was conducted on the orders of DCO Noorul Amin Mengal, who was requested in a written complaint by Assistant Director Passport Office Rana Muhammad Yasir to take immediate action against the tout mafia.
Meanwhile, Assistant Director Passport Office Rana Yasir said that action against the tout mafia had been evoked after mounting complaints of the passport-seekers and it would continue till elimination of the tout mafia.
TWO ULEMA BOOKED: Police have booked two Ulema under the Amplifier Act.
They are: Qari Ghulam Sarwar, Khateeb of Jamia Masjid Muhammadi, Muhammadabad, and Qari Irfanullah, Khateeb of Masjid-e-Zainab, Jaranwala.
