DSP kills thief during robbery bid in his house

BAHAWALPUR: A DSP killed a thief while he was committing a robbery in his house at Officers’ Colony, Bahawalnagar, on Wednesday night.
According to A-Division police, thief Saifullah entered the house of DSP Khalid Mehmood and started stealing UPS. Hearing the noise, the DSP woke up and gunned down the thief. The killed thief was wanted in 10 cases by different police stations of Bahawalnagar district. A-Division police have registered a case on the report of DSP Khalid Mehmood.
CONVICTED: Bahawalpur ATC Special Judge Khalid Arshad on Thursday awarded 16-year imprisonment and Rs 200,000 fine to Muhammad Yameen on the charge of collecting funds in the name of a defunct outfit. The convict was arrested by the Counter-Terrorism Department, Multan, from Bahawalnagar.
TWO BIKERS KILLED: Two motorcyclists were killed in as many road accidents here.
Mehboob Sial of Chak Salamat was killed when a tractor-trolley hit his motorcycle near Multani Chowk. Meanwhile, Kazim Ali died when a trailer hit his motorcycle near Noorpur Nauranga.
RESULT DECLARED: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Bahawalpur, declared the result of matriculation supplementary examinations 2015 here on Thursday. Total 7,013 candidates appeared in the examinations and 3,448 were declared successful.
