Sports in schools

Pakistan’s performance in world sports is dismal. From 1947 till now, we have only bagged three gold medals in a single sport – hockey. Similarly, in athletics, we have only managed to win three silver medals and four bronze medals, with the result that we are ranked very low in world sports. There is no concept of sports education in our elementary or secondary schools.
If the government does not take an interest in the education sector then those working to promote the cause of education in Pakistan, especially those trying to promote sports and athletics, will lose the battle.
